1 Purpose
Investigate the metabolic activity in juvenile/young adult halibut under acute temperature influence.

2 Distress
No invasive experiment will be performed. Slight stress will be performed to the fish by manually "hunting" them to force the fish to swim and reach high metabolic rate. Fish will be then placed and resting in rearing respirometry chambers to measure its oxygen consumption. Acute temperature used during the experiment will be not invasive and procedure will be performed within its normal range of homeostasis.

3 Expected benefit
This study will increase knowledge about fish stress and metabolic physiology due to sudden elevation of temperature and how the fish will handle/adapt to a potential change in rearing condition.

4 Number of animals, and what kind
60 fishes per age (1 and 2yo) will be used. (120 in total).

5 How to adhere to 3R
Non invasive procedure will be performed.
All measurement will be undertaken in living animal placed in their respective rearing tank and within its normal range of homeostasis.
